Thunderbolts* is the latest Marvel film to top the box office, opening with £6m, which includes £1m from Thursday previews. That’s the fourth biggest opening weekend of 2025 and this weekend, particularly in the US, is considered the start of the summer movie season. This weekend last year saw The Fall Guy open with a Friday to Sunday total of £3.2m, so Thunderbolts* has got the 2025 summer movie season off to a better start than that film did in 2024.
