Box Office Round-up
Despite dropping 62% from its opening weekend, The Fantastic Four: First Steps still takes the top spot, bringing its total to £15.3m. The last Marvel title Thunderbolts* finished on £16.2m, so if Fantastic Four can exceed this, then it will take its place as 10th most successful film of 2025.
The Naked Gun opens with £1.8m, taking the second spot this week. Audiences are rating this film highly, seeing a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes (from 214 reviews) and an avg. score of 3.5/5 on Letterboxd.
The Bad Guys 2 took the third spot again this week with £1.3m, seeing a 19% drop which now takes its total to £4.8m. Releasing during the Easter holidays, The Bad Guys grossed a total of £13.8m, so hopefully the sequel can match the first film despite it releasing in the early summer holidays.
Jurassic World: Rebirth came in fourth again on its 5th weekend, dropping 20% but still adding £1.2m, bringing its total up to £31.5m, holding the title as the fourth biggest film of 2025 having just overtaken Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. It’s unlikely, but not completely impossible, for JRR to top the third biggest film of 2025 (Lilo & Stitch) which grossed £36.9m, but the likes of Wicked: For Good & Avatar: Fire & Ash is likely to ruin its chances.
Superman rounded out the top five, dropping 34% but adding £1.2m, taking its total to £24.2m and it’s now the sixth highest grossing film of 2025, just behind Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which Superman is likely to overtake.
Outside of the top five, Bring Her Back opened with £500k, which includes 443 previews. South Asian release Saiyaara added £488k on its third weekend, seeing the smallest drop of the chart with only -4%, which takes its total to over £2m.
