Box Office: Katniss holds off Pixar and Spielberg

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 held on to the top spot for a second straight weekend, falling 51% (once previews are removed) to £4.5m, for a new cume of £19.3m. Last year, Mockingjay Part 1 fell 52% on its second weekend, so this second instalment is holding up slightly better.  Read more

THIS WAY UP returns and has a new venue - HOME, Manchester

THIS WAY UP returns next week, at a brand new venue - HOME in Manchester. The film exhibition innovation conference – which launched last year to great acclaim – returns with a packed two-day schedule. With over 60 speakers and 20 panels, workshops and labs it promises to be a jam-packed, ideas-filled couple of days that will inspire and enlighten, provoke and challenge.

DCM’s Upfronts 2015 takes place at BAFTA

Digital Cinema Media's annual Upfronts event, exploring the opportunities for brands to engage in the unique cinema environment, was held at BAFTA on Monday morning. The programme included a keynote address from legendary creative, Sir John Hegarty, who spoke about building brands and capturing audiences' undivided attention.

Box Office: Katniss puts a stop to Bond’s stay at the top

The Weekend Round-up

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 finally put a stop to SPECTRE’s stay at the top, opening with a hefty £11.3m, which included £2m from Thursday previews. Whilst that’s not quite as big as Catching Fire (£12.2m) and Mockingjay Part 1 (£12.7m), neither of those films had a Bond to contend with. Read more

Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has partnered with global research company Millward Brown to launch DCM CrossMedia, a long-term insight programme designed to provide advertisers access to trusted and unbiased cross-media measurement. DCM CrossMedia aims to better understand how each media channel used is working, how best to optimise different media channels and the role cinema plays in the media mix.
