The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is now the biggest film in the UK in 2015. It grossed £3.5m over the weekend, overtaking Fast & Furious 7 in the process and crossed the £40m mark on Sunday to sit on £40.4m. On its third weekend in 2012, Avengers Assemble added £4.2m, so Ultron is falling away slightly faster but there’s still an outside chance it can reach £50m. Read more
The Hippodrome is Scotland's oldest purpose-built cinema. Opened in 1912, and an A-listed historic building, it is the masterpiece of architect Matthew Steele, who left Bo'ness with a remarkable built heritage of early 20th century design styles. The Avengers: Age Of Ultron has been in cinemas just two weekends and it is already the third biggest film of the year. From Friday to Sunday it added a further £8.6m for a huge cume of £32.3m. It’s now the third highest grossing Marvel movie, behind Iron Man 3 and Avengers Assemble and it’s certain to overtake Iron Man 3 later this week. Read more
