Box Office: Legend takes top spot with record-breaking debut

Tom Hardy’s dual performance as Reggie and Ronnie Kray earned Legend the top spot this week, opening with a huge £5.19m including £1.49m from previews. This is the UK’s biggest September release and the biggest ever opening for a British production with an 18 certificate. Producers StudioCanal also announced that Legend was their widest ever release and had become their biggest UK opening of all time, beating 2014’s Paddington which took £5.11m. Read more

The ‘First Ever Global Cinema Ad’ utilising the power of Cinema to engage the global Cinema audience is set to launch on 25 September. The 60 second Global Cinema Ad titled, #WEHAVEAPLAN, is animated by four times Oscar-winning Aardman Animations, directed by Sir John Hegarty and narrated by film stars Liam Neeson and Michelle Rodriguez.
