Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has partnered with global research company Millward Brown to launch DCM CrossMedia, a long-term insight programme designed to provide advertisers access to trusted and unbiased cross-media measurement. The Weekend Round-up
The Bond juggernaut marches on as SPECTRE held on to the top spot. In its third weekend it banked £7.8m, down 40% from last weekend, and now sits on a huge £77.6m. That’s enough to put it fourth on the list of highest grossing films of all time in the UK, with only Titanic (thanks to 3D re-release), Avatar and Skyfall ahead of it. It will overtake Titanic’s £80m total at some point this week and should have the legs to at least get very close to Avatar’s £93.6m in second. Read more

The Weekend Round-up
After opening with comfortably the biggest opening weekend of the year last week, and the fourth biggest of all time, the question was how well SPECTRE would hold up on its second weekend. Well, the answer was pretty well. A drop of 34% to £13.1m, means that SPECTRE is now on £64m, less than £400k behind 2015’s top film, Jurassic World. Read more

Last week was telling for the cinema industry. Two of this year’s most anticipated films broke records. SPECTRE finally hit the big screen with the film breaking the record for the biggest opening seven day gross in history, with £41.3m. That wasn’t from the full week either, with the first public screenings on the opening day not starting until 7.30pm after the commencement of the world premiere. The previous record holder, Bond’s last outing in Skyfall, could only manage a paltry £37.3m in a full seven days. Brand Bond continues to launch in cinema with spectacular results.
