Ambleside’s popular cinema, Zeffirellis, and neighbouring ‘vegeterranean’ restaurant, Fellinis, have won multiple awards in the food and hospitality sector.

Zeffirellis has been named Best Hospitality and Entertainment Group in the north, along with the Lake District Hospitality Venture of the Year, in the 2017 Business Excellence Awards.

The Awards programme is organised by AI Global Media, which publishes a portfolio of entertaining and informative finance, wealth and lifestyle publications with a global reach.

The annual awards highlight the amazing work done by the top firms and individuals and their dedication to innovation, customer care and the continued growth of their businesses.

Meanwhile, Fellinis was judged to be the best vegetarian restaurant in Cumbria, as well as picking up the Excellence Award for dinner entertainment in the 2017 Restaurant and Bar Awards.

Hosted by LUX magazine, this awards programme explores and honours establishments of all sizes on an international level. Every prize is awarded on the basis of nominations and reviews made by clients, peers and industry professionals.

Managing Director of Zeffirellis and Fellinis, Dorothy Smith (pictured, above), said: “We are delighted to accept these awards which are based on judging by industry experts, but also by our customers who continue to appreciate what we are doing.”

And it doesn’t stop there. Zeffirellis is a finalist in the Cumbria Family Business Awards, to be announced on Friday 10 March. The company is marking 37 years in business, with five cinema screens, two restaurants, a café, jazz bar and a vegetarian guest house in Ambleside.
