I hope you were lucky enough to get one of Phil Clapp’s golden tickets to this year's CEA Digital Conference. It is being held this Thursday at the Cineworld O2 and is now officially sold out! I’m really looking forward to the conference, which promises to be a great event.

Simon Rees, our esteemed leader, is participating in the first key panel session of the day ‘Managing the Digital Present’. As the UK is now a fully digitised sector, this session will look at the additional revenue opportunities presented by digital technology, in particular the ability to show a broader range of films, better matched to available audiences, as well as the way digitisation has brought about a step change in the attractiveness of the big screen advertisers.

The conference will consider the benefits experienced by a now fully digital sector as well as changes that lie ahead. Other key sessions include:

  • New cinema business models
  • Emerging technologies and the next round of digitisation (when this will be, what it might look like and how it might be funded)

There are 300 delegates due to attend from: exhibition, distribution, cinema suppliers, local authority, digital integrators, technology companies, architects/designers, property developers, financial and retail sectors.

I’ll see you there, although you may not recognise me, due to my participation in Movember...

DCM continues to support Movember!

There are 14 DCM Mos in total and we’ve raised an aMozing £815 so far! Firstly, thanks to all that have sponsored team DCMo thus far. Please click here should you wish to make a donation, although a wink, a nod or a giggle (I defy you not to smile at my Mo) are support enough.

What would be even more valuable would be to talk to your loved ones, friends, father, brother, nephew, cousin about Movember and help raise awareness of men’s health issues. I’m 3 years a Mo Bro, and 2 years a cancer survivor. I was very lucky and caught it early, and I hope me looking ridiculous for 30 days a year gives someone else the same chance.

Look forward to seeing you Thursday where I’ll update you on the conference and share a photo of team DCMo next week.

Mo Regards,

Steve Davis
