The Parkway Cinema in Cleethorpes is celebrating its tenth birthday by giving away free popcorn with every ticket sold on the anniversary.

Originally opened in 2004 by cinema expert Gerald Parkes and his wife Denise, the independently-owned nine-screen cinema and theatre has been running every day since, apart from Christmas Day each year.

Thousands of audience members have passed through the doors to watch the latest blockbuster films or to see some of the big names that have performed there, including Alan Carr, Jason Manford and Jamie Cullum.

Scott Marshall, managing director, said: "With the growth of 3D films and events like the Bolshoi Ballet, National Theatre or Dr Who, the sort of things we show is constantly evolving, but one thing is always the same – the magic of seeing a film on the big screen."

"I'd like to thank everybody who's supported us for the last ten years, and further still, for their hard work, I'd like to thank all of the 250 people we've employed since opening."

"We'd also like thank all the people who have visited us over the years, and who keep supporting the Parkway."
