It’s been another fantastic 12 months for cinema and advertising on the big screen in 2016 has excelled to build on the successes of the past few years. To cap such a prosperous period for our medium, Campaign has named Digital Cinema Media’s CEO, Karen Stacey, in its top 10 commercial chiefs of the year.

The accolade, which was published in the magazine’s Annual edition revealing the best-performing people and companies of the year, is a significant feat for Karen and she appears as the only female entry on the list.

“Cinema couldn’t ask for a more enthusiastic cheerleader than Stacey – whether it’s hosting the DCM Awards at Ham Yard Hotel or championing ROI at its upfronts at BAFTA,” reads the copy. “The former Bauer Media radio executive has seen her revenues surge 14% in the first nine months of the year – growth that other ‘legacy’ media owners can only dream about.”

Other notable feats for DCM this year include adding the Curzon and Everyman Cinemas portfolios to its estate, launching a series of media firsts for the likes of Airbnb, Channel 4 and Xbox, and continuing to push long-term business growth in the space with innovations and new research to prove the value of the medium.

She joins other sales bosses from companies including Google, Global, Facebook and ITV on the list.
