The Digital Cinema Media Awards are open for 2026, and we’ve introduced a brand-new category.
Excellence in Cinema Effectiveness recognises outstanding big screen campaigns backed up with the most robust data. Regardless of size or spend, we’re looking for campaigns that put cinema first.
What makes this category unique?
We love tangible results, and every category at the Digital Cinema Media Awards 2026 benefits from strong data. However, for Excellence in Cinema Effectiveness, we’re looking for cinema specificity.
Campaigns that demonstrate an insight-led media strategy, and evidence strategic cinema planning and measurement, are perfect for this category. In other words, a campaign entry that demonstrates measurable outcomes that can be attributed directly to cinema and not additional media placements. The big screen must be front and centre.
Regardless of the campaign size, submissions that show a strong understanding of cinema’s target audience and market context are in with a real chance.
It’s your moment to prove the power of an effective, data-led strategy.
What results prove Excellence?
You can provide any results from the campaign attributed directly to cinema. For example, the intelligent use of data and measurement tools throughout the campaign lifecycle. These can include integrating location data, brand uplift studies and Market Mix Modelling (MMM) analysis.
Providing the results demonstrate the power of cinema, you’re showcasing excellence.
However, results that focus on total media performance, without explicitly attributing the impact from cinema, will not be considered.
Which campaigns are eligible?
Any cinema campaign active within the judging period of August 2025 to July 2026 is eligible. And you can submit a campaign to multiple categories. For example, if you’re considering the Best use of Cinema Small or Large categories, and the campaign shows genuine excellence in cinema effectiveness, it’s possible to tailor a new entry for the same campaign. Just make sure this entry proves the power of the big screen.
We look forward to celebrating with you at BAFTA for the Digital Cinema Media Awards ceremony.
