2026 BAFTA Winners Announced

The 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards took place on Sunday 22 February at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

The big winner of the night was Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which won six awards. It took the BAFTAs for Best Film, Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, and Editing.

Sinners, I Swear and Frankenstein each received three BAFTAs.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners received the award for Original Screenplay, Original Score for Ludwig Göransson, and Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku.

For I Swear, Robert Aramayo received the BAFTA for Leading Actor and the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award. The film also received the BAFTA for Casting.

Frankenstein took the BAFTAs for Costume Design, Production Design and Make-up and Hair.

Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet received the BAFTA for Outstanding British Film, and Jessie Buckley received the BAFTA for Leading Actress.

Sentimental Value won the BAFTA for Film not in the English Language, F1 was awarded the BAFTA for Sound, and Avatar: Fire and Ash received the BAFTA for Special Visual Effects.

Zootropolis 2 was awarded the BAFTA for Animated Film, and Boong won Children's and Family Film.

Mr Nobody Against Putin took the BAFTA for Documentary, This Is Endometriosis was awarded the BAFTA for British Short Film, and Two Black Boys in Paradise received the BAFTA for British Short Animation.

Akinola Davies Jr. and Wale Davies received the BAFTA for Outstanding debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer, for their film My Father's Shadow.

Clare Binns, Creative Director of Picturehouse Cinemas and Picturehouse Entertainment, accepted the award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. As she closed her acceptance speech, Claire said: “What will sustain us is why we’re here in the first place: the love of watching film, and the power of watching films together. Nothing will ever be as meaningful.”
