Coverage & Frequency
Cinema campaigns, just like other media, can be measured by coverage and frequency. The coverage is essentially the proportion (%) of a target audience who are exposed to a campaign (going to cinema across campaign weeks). The frequency is the number of times those people reached will be exposed to the activity (number of times they go to the cinema).
Research proves that the high impact of cinema means that one exposure to an advert on cinema is effective compared to other media where multiple exposure is necessary.
The CAA uses the annual FAME survey and quarterly Film Monitor survey to calculate coverage and frequency (a 4+ sample of approx 19,000 respondents). From this, we are able to run coverage and frequency on multiple audiences and various buying routes.
