DCM’s Production department offers a conversion service to adapt commercials to cinema formats, including 2D and 3D digital cinema (DCP) and IMAX.

Having invested in the best range of services and leading facility houses, DCM provides the highest possible conversion quality at the most competitive prices in cinema advertising.

This month we’re introducing you to the team behind DCM’s cutting edge cinema expertise… They love going to the cinema (naturally) and are big fans of Audrey Hepburn and Back to the Future’s Marty McFly.

So, have a nosey around and get to know the faces that make up the DCM Production team.

What is your favourite thing about going to the cinema?

Lucy - The escapism and shared experience – it immerses you unlike anything else. And those moments where a scene in a film provokes completely different reactions amongst the audience at the same time! I also have a weakness for the chilli nuts at Picturehouse cinemas…

Emma - Sounds cliché but it is the big screen – you just can’t replicate it anywhere!

What excites you most about the future of the cinema industry?

Lucy - Digital cinema has paved the way for a whole host of technological innovations. It will be really interesting to see what sticks, but Dolby Atmos is surely the future of cinema surround sound and gives content creators the most incredible platform to create immersive audience experiences. Has to be heard to be believed!

Jack - The continued collaboration between new technologies and creative talents / filmmakers. No one was quite expecting the visceral experience of a film such as Gravity, so who knows where this collaboration might take cinema and what film-going experiences we might get in the future?

Lucy - Also laser projection is going to bring brighter, more realistic images with even better contrast. And we're excited to see how use of our mobile app, cinime, develops.

Emma -  The new 3D technology '37 Degrees’ has also been well received and it's exciting to see what else happens here!

What is your favourite film of all time?

Lucy - This is too hard! My favourites include Rear Window, Girl on the Bridge, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Amelie, Lost in Translation, and Blue is the Warmest Colour... The Little Mermaid and Mannequin are guilty pleasures!

Emma - The Sound of Music - it’s a family classic that I’ve enjoyed since I was tiny.

Jack - If I was being something of a film snob I’d say 2001: A Space Odyssey as it’s pretty much the pinnacle of filmmaking craftsmanship and vision. But if I was being honest, it’s probably Back To The Future.

What film are you most looking forward to in 2015?

Lucy - Again this is really hard as there is such a stunning array of film product slated for this year. But I’ve heard very good things about Far From the Madding Crowd, out 1 May, and am intrigued by the teaser trailer for The Walk – the true story of Philippe Petit’s walk between the Twin Towers in the ‘70s. Definitely one to enjoy on the biggest screen you can find.

Emma - The final instalment in the Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay Part 2.

Jack - Crimson Peak stands out from the pack as a truly unique vision and anything from the imagination of director Guillermo del Toro is going to be something to behold.

What do you think are the most iconic cinema ads and why?

Lucy - Sony Bravia “Balls” at the IMAX at Waterloo has to be up there, I still think of that ad if I ever I hear the track “Heartbeats” by Jose Gonzales. Also Guinness “Evolution” with the unforgettable tag line “good things come to those who wait”. More recently Lurpak “Adventure Awaits” makes the everyday cinematic, and Jaguar “Rendezvous” directed by Tom Hooper is a suitably iconic ad for an iconic British car brand.

Emma - I loved the VW ‘See Film Differently’ series, very clever and funny.

Jack - The Orange Wednesday ads were always the most memorable, seeing an iconic actor being the butt of their jokes showed the film industry doesn’t always have to be so serious.

If you could be any film character who would you be and why?

Lucy - Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the clothes, apartment and of course Cat!

Emma - Mary Poppins, for her magic handbag and flying umbrella!

Jack - Well, depending on my mood I suppose it has to be either HAL 9000 or Marty McFly!

What is the last film that made you cry / laugh out loud / took your breath away?

Lucy – I emerged from the Theory of Everything puffy faced with panda eyes!

Emma - Whiplash took my breath away - the tension in the final scene is incredible.

Jack - Interstellar was a film that made me cry and took my breath away in equal measures - anything that takes you back to the type of films you watched in your childhood is great thing.
