DCM inspires through film at Advertising Week for third year

Digital Cinema Media (DCM) is once again an official partner of Advertising Week Europe, to celebrate and showcase the power of cinema advertising and the influence and inspiration film brings to the creative industries.

The DCM team will be attending events throughout the week, with DCM’s CEO Karen Stacey participating in a leadership panel debate, while DCM and D&AD will host their own Creative Workshop with headline panellists that include Cake’s CEO, Adrian Pettett, 2014-15 BAFTA Breakthrough Brit Steve Jamison of Archer’s Mark, as well as Pulse Film’s Luke Taylor.

DCM will also be hosting the official movie night of the week alongside Disney as part of its DCM Tuesdays film club.

Advertising Week Europe is now in its third year in Europe, with a whole array of seminars, workshops and evening events taking place at BAFTA every day from 23 March to 27 March. To be precise, there will be 209 events, 113 seminars, 70 workshops and 185+ hours of thought leadership content which will draw together key influencers from the client, media and broader cultural communities globally.

Is branded content inspiring film?

The LEGO Movie deservedly won a BAFTA this year, the ultimate validation of a feature-length branded content film. Branded content has come of age, and this year D&AD is launching a new Branded Film Content & Entertainment category at its prestigious awards to be announced in May. As part of their #InspiredbyFilm programme, DCM and D&AD will explore the inspiration behind the greatest work, the best platforms to showcase branded content and how the relationship between brands, entertainment and film will evolve.

DCM is also proud to host the official movie night at Advertising Week Europe via adland’s hottest monthly event, DCM Tuesdays, alongside Disney. This exclusive evening preview will feature Cinderella, Disney’s live-action movie feature inspired by the classic fairytale. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh, with an all-star cast including Lily James, Richard Madden, Helena Bonham-Carter & Cate Blanchett.
