3D technology is now a major driving force in the film industry with studios such as Pixar announcing that they will be shooting all of their forthcoming films in 3D from now onwards. Since the commercial success of Avatar every major film studio has a 3D film in production in 2010.
We are estimating 75.6 million* 3D cinema impacts through 24 3D titles in 2010, that's nearly 43%* of total industry impacts. It has been found that 3D films take more at the box office than their 2D counterparts. For Avatar 89.6% of the total box office came from the 3D shows**
