Top Spot For Grown Ups
01/09/2010
Grown Ups, the new buddy-comedy starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock shot straight to the top of the UK Box Office last weekend.
The film, which follows five former school friends who reunite after 30 years at the funeral of their high school basketball coach, took £2m between Friday and Sunday.
This is the best opening result for an Adam Sandler or Kevin James film, beating both Click (£1.8m) and Paul Blart: Mall Cop (£1.3m).
More 3D for 2010
The UK's appetite for 3D films shows no signs of stopping, so much so that we can expect to see 10 new 3D releases hit our screens this autumn alone, a massive increase on the 15 released across the whole of 2009.
3D hot picks still to come include action adventure Tron Legacy, kids animations Despicable Me and Megamind and for the slightly older audiences, Saw VII and Jackass that will both thrill, scare and entertain in the full glory of 3D.
