Responsible to: Head of Research & Insight

Job Purpose: The key objective of this role is to provide our sales force with market leading research and sales support to enable cinema to be seen as a true challenger in the media market place, alongside the likes of TV, press, outdoor and online. ..............................................................................................................................

The role

Main responsibilities:

  • Working with members of the sales team to proactively pitch for business or respond to briefs using industry-standard resources (e.g. TGI, TouchPoints and Nielsen data) and proprietary research to build a compelling case for Cinema.

  • Ensuring all sales presentations and marketing communications contain the latest research and that data is used to its best advantage to maximise revenue.

  • Providing regular analysis of the market in order to spot potential advertisers and strong product categories.

  • Working with sales teams, research agencies and clients in the planning, implementation and presentation of client case studies to demonstrate cinema’s effectiveness at meeting advertising objectives

  • Presenting the latest insight and research at internal and external meetings Internal sales teams. External clients and media agencies.

  • Answering general research queries using tools such as NMR, IMS, TGI, Touchpoints, coverage and frequency systems

  • Manage the running of FAME, Film Monitor and Reach & Frequency (more details on request).


    To develop:

Commissioning and optimising ad hoc qualitative and quantitative research to meet specific business needs and strategic objectives


    Key competencies:

  • Knowledge of the UK media market

  • Background in Media or Research Agency and experience of consumer insight projects

  • Commercially driven and excellent analytical skills

  • Works accurately and effectively to set deadlines

  • Be able to demonstrate their ability to work under pressure

  • Great project management skills

  • Have excellent presentation skills internally and externally to the company

  • Have first rate communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Good Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Proficiency in using research tools such as Touchpoints, TGI, and NMR


    The person

  • Be outgoing and enjoy working in a team and interfacing with Sales

  • Self-starter who is keen to learn

  • Possess a well-developed sense of humour and be resilient in temperament

  • Be able to influence people at all levels with an open, forward-thinking and persuasive

    style.


             Education & Qualifications

  Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
